It is a new year for Rotary and that means passing the Gavel from 2020-21 President Charlotte Jacobs to our new 2021-22 Rotary Club of Scottsdale North President, Kevin Edwards. Charlotte, known by most as Char, had the unique task of Rotary Presidency during Covid-19 lockdowns and social distancing. Char did a fantastic job of keeping everyone spirits up during unsure times and leading the charge back to our eventful, in-person meetings!

Char did not let things slow down during the 'zoom era' of Rotary meetings. The club set 13 goals at the beginning of the year and achieved each one, earning the Presidential Citation. Rotary Club of Scottsdale North set a goal to grow by 2 members but instead grew by 11 vibrant new members! Additionally, the club met our donation goals to Polio Plus & The Annual Fund. Though we were not able to host a traditional fundraiser, the club found a way to give with Step Up for Rotary and the Super Bowl Board, along with members self funding the Rotary fund by donating $1 per day.

Listed below are many of the Service Projects completed by Rotary Club of Scottsdale North members!
-Foothills Foodbank - Food Drives, donated school supplies and supported a family for Christmas
-Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children - Donated school supplies, art supplies, and supported a family at the holidays.
-Dig Deep Project -We joined with other Rotary clubs to complete a target to provide running water to the Navajo Nation, along with a donation.
-Pipeline Worldwide - A donation to an international project bringing medical supplies to a community in Africa.
-Social Media & Website - We made a commitment to keep our info fresh with photos and stories about our projects and events.
-District Rotary Week of Service - We participated with 60 other clubs in the District to plant trees at a local park in carefree.

Charlotte, thank you for your year as Rotary Club of Scottsdale North President.

We look for ward to the fantastic year we are able to create with our new President, Kevin Edwards. Kevin has been a past president and will do a fantastic job of helping our club be a true service to the community. So let us embrace the opportunity for Rotary to be a service to change lives in the 2021-22 Rotary year!
